Nursery Rooms

We appreciate that every child is unique and we look after your baby in the way you want us to by following your child’s own routine.

We use babysdays software to keep you updated regularly about your child’s activities at nursery including their meals, sleeps and nappies among others. Upon registration, you will be given log-in details to download the software for access.

Babies

Meadowside babies are typically from birth – 2 years old, housed on the ground floor of the detached baby unit for easy pushchair access.  Babies are encouraged to try many exploratory and sensory activities including water play, messy play and singing and language development through story time. These are provided in small groups while their confidence develops. We encourage occasional mix of older babies with younger ones to enhance learning opportunities for younger babies which is a key recommendation within the EYFS.

The team in the baby room have been carefully selected for their experience and qualification, giving you the much needed peace of mind when you leave your most valuable investment with us.

Upon reaching the age of 2, and after careful assessment of individual child’s progress and readiness, children move from babies to the Toddler group. Before this transition from one group to another, discussions are held with the child’s parents to allay fears and address any concerns.

Toddlers

On reaching their second birthday children move to the Toddler room, where a warm welcome awaits them from our team of dedicated practitioner. The children are offered a wide range of activities and experiences to stimulate their growing minds and bodies.

Activities focus on developing skills such as:

  • Co-operation – by taking turns and sharing in small and larger groups during play
  • Communication – through listening, speaking, role play, song time and story time
  • Creativity – through exploratory play, music, baking, art and craft activities, sand and water play
  • Independence – during meal times, whilst toilet training, when selecting toys
  • Mathematical ability – by developing familiarity with shapes, numbers and colours
  • Self-awareness – by respecting themselves, others, the needs of others, and developing an understanding of right and wrong.
